by Swami Sivananda
The present volume contains text, translations, important notes and detailed commentaries on the nine principal Upanishads. Originally, these major texts appeared in two volumes in earlier editions, and shortly after their publication, these works of His Holiness Sri Swami Shivanandji Maharaj went out of print for many years. For some reason or other, a re-evaluation of these famous scriptures could not be possible with His Holiness’s comment, although students of Indian philosophy, the triple, the Upanishads, the Brahmasutras and the Triple Foundation of the Bhagavad Gita. Looked forward to seeing these writings come out of these treasures and were in fact constantly negotiating our requests in this regard.
The greatness and sublime of the Upanishads are well known to all students of philosophy. There have been many attempts to approach books through different perspectives. Much has been written by Eastern and Western scholars on kink problems of interpretation. And yet, the reader has not fully understood the central teachings. In this section, Sri Swamiji, in his own informal style, has emphasized such points, clearly and truly, in his own informal style, thus not only before the qualified disciple, but in front of the reading reader. Bare the sacred principle.
